OCA Acting President lauds ‘tremendous initiatives’ of Bangladesh Olympic Association

Kuwait City, Kuwait, February 14, 2023: The Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Raja Randhir Singh, has praised the “tremendous initiatives” of the Bangladesh Olympic Association in organising a nationwide sports festival for the youth.

Brig Gen Mohammad Samsul Alam Khan (retd), BOA Director General, informed the OCA that the Bangladesh Olympic Association is organising the Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games 2023 – the largest sporting extravaganza in the country – from February 26 to March 4, 2023.

“The first and second phase of the games were organised very successfully throughout the country. Honorable Prime Minister of People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the Opening Ceremony of the Games,” said the BOA Director General.

Writing for the souvenir programme for the event, Raja Randhir says: “It gives me immense pleasure that the Bangladesh Olympic Association is going to hold the Youth Games for the second time in the name of ‘Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games 2023’.

“I take this opportunity to commend once again the great efforts of the Bangladesh Olympic Association and the organisers for their tremendous initiatives. I believe the games will provide ample opportunities for the young athletes to show their hidden talent through this mega event.

“I wish the young participants and the organisers the very best of luck and grand success of the Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games 2023.”
