Macau, China, February 11, 2023: The 15th National Games of China will be co-hosted by Guangdong province and the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau in 2025.
The Macau Organising Committee held the launch ceremony for the recruitment of volunteers and partners for the 15th National Games in Macau on February 10 at the Macau Science Center Auditorium.
The event was officiated by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macau SAR Government and the Chairman of the Macau Organising Committee of the National Games. The ceremony also marked the start of the preparatory work for the 15th National Games in Macau in 2025.
The President of the Macau SAR Sports Bureau, Secretary General of the Organising Committee of the National Games and Vice President of the Olympic Committee, Mr. Pun Weng Kun, said in his speech that the National Games was the highest level and the largest comprehensive sports event in China.
He added that Macau's participation in hosting this event was a sign of the Central Government's trust and support of the Macau SAR and recognition of Macau's sports development.
It is hoped that, through the organisation of the 15th National Games, it will further promote the development of sports in Macau and contribute to the development of economic diversification.
A total of 10,000 volunteers aged 16 and above will be recruited for the National Games in Macau. After verification of their information, applicants will be able to participate in various training courses and activities conducted by the Organising Committee which will commence in 2023; on completion of the training, volunteers will be arranged to work at different positions within the games and events.
The volunteer training programme is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025 and includes a series of theoretical and practical courses.
A team of motivated and enthusiastic volunteers will be ready to serve in the 15th National Games in Macau in 2025.
