Lausanne, Switzerland, February 7, 2023: The Olympic Council of Malaysia made a courtesy call to the ANOC Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday, February 2.

The OCM was represented by General Manager Fong Wan Hor, who was received by the ANOC Secretary General, Gunilla Lindberg, ANOC NOC Services Manager Gustavo Harada and ANOC Project Manager Andres Santi.

Mr. Fong was tasked by President Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohamad Norza Zakaria to collaborate further with ANOC in developing its own sustainability strategies - one of the three pillars of Olympic Agenda 2020.

The OCM is committed to joining other NOCs around the world to be part of the signatories of the UN Sports for Climate Action Framework in the near future.

Furthermore, Mr. Fong also expressed the interest of the OCM to take a bigger role in supporting ANOC’s initiatives by playing host for some of its programmes.

The OCM is considering to bid to host the ANOC General Assembly in the near future as the OCM last hosted it 21 years ago in 2002.

Mr Fong also visited the IOC Headquarters and met with the Senior Manager of the Safe Sport Unit, Kristy Burrows.

The IOC was very impressed by the initiative of OCM for planning to organise an International Conference on Safe Sport, which is in line with the IOC Safe Sport Initiatives. The IOC Safe Sport Unit will support the OCM to ensure the successful organisation of this International Conference in 2023.
