Nepal Olympic Committee bids farewell to shooting team for ISSF World Cup

Kathmandu, Nepal, January 30, 2023: The President of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Hon. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Secretary General Nilendra Raj Shrestha and NOC executive director Chaturananda Rajvaidya attended a farewell ceremony for the country’s shooting team for the ISSF World Cup in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Young shooting prodigy Sushmita Nepal, along with coach Pradeep Khati, will represent Nepal at the ISSF World Cup which got underway last week. The tournament will end on February 8.

Sushmita, an Olympic scholarship holder, will participate in the women’s 10m Air Rifle and is expected to make a strong showing.

Nepal NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha gave his best wishes to Sushmita and hoped the World Cup would give her a “great platform” to enhance her experience and help her in the quest for a berth at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The President of the Nepal Shooting Association, Pushpa Das Shrestha, was also present at the farewell ceremony and he thanked the Nepal Olympic Committee for their continued support.
