Doha, Qatar, January 3, 2023: The Qatar Olympic Committee has announced that its calendar for 2023 will feature 81 sports events, including 14 major international events.
The calendar will see 23 international competitions, 17 Asian championships, four Arab region championships and five GCC level events.
In addition to this year-long supply of top-class sports events in Qatar, the QOC will also hold a number of local and community events to promote Olympism and the local sports scene. These include National Sports Day on February 14, QOC Beach Games, Olympic Schools Program and Olympic Day.
One of the biggest events on the calendar is the IJF World Judo Championships from May 7-13, while another highlight is the World Athletics Diamond League meet on May 5.
Another eagerly awaited event is the Longines Global Champions Tour, a showjumping qualifying tournament for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
