Dushanbe, Tajikistan, January 2, 2023: The 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China has taken prime place in the plans of the executive committee of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan for 2023.
Vice President of Tajikistan NOC, Rahmonzoda Abdullah, chaired a recent meeting of the executive committee where budgetary plans and international Games schedules for 2023 were presented, discussed and submitted to the General Assembly for approval.
The 19th Asian Games from September 23 to October 8 will be the main focus for the elite Tajikistan athletes along with the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok and Chonburi, Thailand in November.
Tajikistan will also participate at the 2nd Children of Asia Winter Games to be held in Kuzbass, Russia from February 23 to March 5. It is expected that 28 teams from 20 Asian countries, as well as regions of Russia, will take part.
It was also announced that promotional events for the Asian Games will be held in Dushanbe and that IOC and Olympic Council of Asia Olympic Solidarity programmes will be conducted in 2023.
The structure and working units of the NOC was also discussed at the meeting with relevant decisions taken.
