Kathmandu, Nepal, December 14, 2022: The President of Nepal Olympic Committee, Hon. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, welcomed the President of Asia Rugby, Qais Al Dhalai, at the NOC Headquarters in Satdobato, Kathmandu on Monday, December 12.
The Asia Rugby President was on a visit to Nepal to coincide with the recently concluded Asia Rugby U-18 Sevens in Kathmandu.
Also present at the reception were Nepal Olympic Committee Secretary General Nilendra Raj Shrestha, Nepal Rugby Acting President Dipak Devkota, Nepal Rugby Secretary Govinda Ghimire and the Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanka Lal Ghising.
NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, who is also the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Aviation, commended organisers on the Asia Rugby U-18 Sevens, and said he was impressed by the quality of rugby displayed at the tournament.
The United Arab Emirates won the girls’ tournament, defeating India 26-5 in the final. Chinese Taipei won the boys’ title, defeating Thailand 17-0.
