Anti-Doping efforts move forward in Timor-Leste

Dili, Timor-Leste, December 13, 2022: With the support of UNESCO, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the South East Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SEARADO), some major strides were made in the support of clean sport in Timor-Leste.

Four Doping Control Officers (DCO) were trained, assessed and monitored during the Out of Competition testing by SEARADO DCO Trainer Ms Nazima Kassim.

SEARADO Director General Mr Gobinathan Nair presented to key stakeholders at this first National Anti-Doping session. His presentation covered various aspects of anti-doping, particularly the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders and the need for the anti-doping set-up to operate independently.

In addition, a session was also conducted for national athletes and support personnel.

SEARADO would like to thank UNESCO and WADA for their initiative and support and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Timor-Leste for their co-operation and collaboration.
