Bhutan, Japan join IOC Immersion Programme

Lausanne, Switzerland, December 12, 2022: ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg received a group of seven National Olympic Committee representatives on December 7 at the ANOC Office in Lausanne.

The NOC representatives are taking part in the new IOC Immersion Programme which is giving the participants a thorough education over two weeks about the different projects of the IOC and the Olympic Movement.

The seven representatives were: Mr Tony Karuru (Kenya, Head of Finance and Administration), Mr Kaggisho Matololong (South Africa, High Performance Coordinator), Ms Melanie Bernhard (Switzerland, Executive Assistant), Mr Jigme Thinley (Bhutan, Senior Programme Officer), Ms Yuriko Yasu (Japan, Communications and Media Relations Coordinator), Ms Catalina Cabach (Chile, Athletes´ Support Manager) and Ms Alice Bowen (Australia, Senior Teams Operations Manager).

They were accompanied by Joëlle Simond, Marie Schwarz and Nodar Margvelashvili from the NOC Relations Department at the International Olympic Committee.

During the two-hour meeting, Mrs Lindberg was able to present the ANOC organisation and role as well as the ANOC´s strategic plan including some of ANOC´s main projects such as the ANOC World Beach Games, the Digital Accelerator Programme, the ANOC Awards and ANOC sustainability commitment.

This reinforces ANOC´s mission to facilitate the cooperation and exchange between NOCs as well as to collaborate with all partners of the Olympic Movement.
