Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, November 29, 2022: Malaysia’s five-time Olympic diver Leong Mun Yee has graduated from the Universiti Putra Malaysia with a master’s degree in corporate communications.

Leong, 37, graduated from the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communications of UPM after five years of study, following her bachelor’s degree in communications in 2017.

“I would like thank all my lecturers for sharing all the knowledge, my classmates and friends who have helped me in my studies,” she said in a Facebook post.

“Also, to Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (Ministry of Higher Education) for the scholarship throughout my academics at UPM.”

Leong, who began diving aged 10, competed in her first Olympic Games at Sydney 2000 when she was 15 years old; her fifth Olympic appearance came at Tokyo 2020, after which she retired from competitive diving and became team manager of the national diving team.

“To me, education is very important. It is a lifelong journey that enhances my skills and knowledge personally and professionally,” she wrote on her website.

“I strongly believe that one needs to have qualities such as passion, perseverance and dedication to achieve their dreams and be all that they can be.”
