Philippines NOC welcomes Asia Swimming Federation for signing ceremony

New Clark City, Philippines, November 27, 2022: The Asia Swimming Federation (AASF) has signed an agreement with the Philippine Olympic Committee for the hosting of the 11th Asian Age Group Championships 2023.

The championships will take place at the New Clark City Aquatics Center, 100km north of Manila, which is part of the Bases Development Conversion Authority charged with converting former military bases.

The event was attended by Mr. Taha Sulaiman Al-Kishry, AASF Secretary General; Mr. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, POC President; and Atty. Agnes Devanadera, President & CEO of Clark Development Corporation.

The 11th Asian Age Group Championships will feature four disciplines - swimming, diving, artistic swimming and water polo. 

New Clark City will welcome over 1,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions around Asia to compete in over a week of action-packed competition. The dates have not been set, but it will be in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Taha Al-Kishry said: “Thanks to the organisers, the Philippine Olympic Committee and to everyone who contributed to the success of the event, and to the various media that attended and contributed to the professional coverage.”

The signing ceremony was held on November 23.

Located in Central Luzon, New Clark City is at a confluence of industry and agriculture with existing infrastructure and connectivity to Manila and rest of the Philippines. With favorable location in the region and appropriate distance from Metro Manila, NCC is poised to become the next big metropolis.
