Students from Amity University in Tashkent visit Uzbekistan NOC headquarters

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, November 22, 2022: The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan held an open day for students from the Amity University in Tashkent last Friday, November 18.

The open day held at the Uzbekistan NOC Headquarters focused on how sports can help increase the spirit of patriotism among the youth as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The guests were also briefed on the activities of the NOC and were given a run through on the rich history of sports in the country at the Olympic Museum, plus the achievements of Uzbek athletes on the international sporting arena.

Zamirajon Sanogulova, silver medallist in rhythmic gymnastics at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, Zainab Dayibekova, a World Cup winner in sabre fencing, Navbahor Hamidova, an Asian boxing champion, and Doston Atabolayev, the first world champion in karate from Uzbekistan, spoke to the students of their experiences.

In a lively question-and-answer session, the athletes spoke about their interests, achievements, the role of sports in a healthy lifestyle, and finished by calling on the visitors to also engage in sports.
