Singapore, November 10, 2022: The Singapore Sports Awards 2022 took place at Marina Bay Sands on Thursday, November 10.
Organised by the Singapore National Olympic Council and Sport Singapore (SportSG), and supported by the Tote Board, the Singapore Sports Awards 2022 honoured the most deserving individuals and teams from the sports year of 2021.
Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Speaker of Parliament and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council, graced the event as the Guest of Honour to present the awards to the deserving winners.
The winners of the Singapore Sports Awards 2022 are:
Sportsman of the Year: Loh Kean Yew (badminton)
Sportswoman of the Year: Yu Mengyu (table tennis)
Sportsboy of the Year: Maximilian Maeder (sailing)
Sportsgirl of the Year: Ser Lin Qian (table tennis)
Coach of the Year: Jason Yeong-Nathan (bowling)
Team of the Year (Event): Bowling Men’s Team - IBF Super World Championships 2021: Cheah Ray Han, Darren Ong Wei Siong, Jonovan Neo Ze Min, Jomond Chia Yu Sun (Xie Yusheng)
Most Inspiring Sport Story of the Year: Rohit Brijnath (The Straits Times) - “The best but most unsparing teacher in sport: Losing.”
Sports Photo of the Year: Kong Chong Yew
