OCM Hall of Fame member Jahendran Subramaniam passes away, aged 87.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, November 8, 2022: The Olympic Council of Malaysia reports the OCM Hall of Fame member Jahendran Subramaniam passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6. He was 87.

Jahendran Subramaniam had a great passion for sport, particularly hockey, and dedicated much of his spare time and energy to promote hockey and the Olympic movement in Malaysia. 

His positions included honorary treasurer of Selangor Hockey Association (1965-1993), honorary treasurer of Malaysia Hockey Federation (1987-1988) and honorary assistant treasurer of Malaysian Hockey Federation (1998-2002).

He also contributed a lot to the Olympic movement in Malaysia, having been elected honorary assistant treasurer of the OCM for five consecutive terms from 1996 to 2007.

Jahendran Subramaniam was appointed Chef de Mission of the Malaysian contingent to the first ever Asian Indoor Games held in Bangkok in 2005.

For his contribution and dedication to the Olympic movement in Malaysia, he was inducted into the OCM Hall of Fame in 2011.

“Mr. Jahendran Subramaniam contributed significantly in keeping the financial statements of OCM in good order during his tenure as the Honorary Assistant Treasurer.
