Phnom Penh, Cambodia, November 1, 2022: Asian Kickboxing Confederation President Nasser Nassiri led a delegation to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to conduct a three-day technical, rules and regulations seminar from October 22-24.
President Nassiri was accompanied by Euncheon Jeong, Chairman of the Technical Committee and board member of the Asian Kickboxing Confederation, and Albert Lim, Development Officer for South East Asia.
The seminar took place at the request of the Cambodia Kickboxing Federation and with the support of the Cambodian sports authorities and 32nd South East Asian (SEA) Games Organising Committee ahead of the SEA Games next May.
NOC Cambodia Secretary General Vath Chamroeun opened the seminar and thanked President Nassiri for his efforts in developing kickboxing in Asia, especially in southeast Asia, due to kickboxing’s presence on the SEA Games sports programme.
President Nassiri thanked the Cambodian sports authorities and CAMSOC for their efforts and support of the national kickboxing federation and assured Cambodia of the full support of the Asian Kickboxing Confederation and its executives.
President Nassiri said: “We will do our best and use all our experience and organizational capabilities to make sure that kickboxing is the best organised sport at the SEA Games next year.”
Technical Committee Chair Jeong added: “We have conducted successful competitions in various multi-sport games in Asia, starting with the 2nd Asian Indoor Games Macao 2007.
“Our most recent successes were at the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games Ashgabat 2017 and the last two editions of the SEA Games - the 30th SEA Games Philippines 2019 and 31st SEA Games Vietnam 2021 (in 2022) - when kickboxing was placed at the highest ranking of the best event during these Games.”
President Nassiri visited the sports hall where kickboxing will be held during the 32nd SEA Games.
