Bhutan NOC sends coaches and refs to OCA development programme

Thimphu, Bhutan, November 1, 2022: Bhutan Olympic Committee is sending a four-sport delegation to Tashkent, Uzbekistan to join the Olympic Council of Asia’s development programme.

The BOC reports that, upon the invitation from the OCA, the sports community is sending coaches and referees in four of the five sports on the agenda: judo, weightlifting, swimming and boxing. The fifth sport is wrestling.

The course is scheduled to take place in Tashkent from November 3-7 and is the second stage of the OCA development programme for coaches and referees. 

The first stage was held in Kuwait over three phases and involved nine sports and 12 NOCs from West Asia.

This second stage will be attended by 14 NOCs from South Asia and Central Asia, and the OCA has invited each NOC to send two coaches and two referees in each of the five sports.

The third stage will be for NOCs from Southeast Asia and East Asia in sports and on dates and at a venue to be announced in 2023.
