OCA signs MoU with IOA to develop Olympic education

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, October 28, 2022: The Olympic Council of Asia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Olympic Academy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday, October 28.

The two signatories were the Acting OCA President, Raja Randhir Singh, and the President of the IOA, Isidoros Kouvelos.

This MoU is in the framework of the OCA decision to establish an education sub-office in Riyadh under the initiative of the Chair of the OCA Education Committee, His Highness Prince Fahad bin Jalawi.

It also enhances the OCA’s long-term plan for Olympic education and follows the signing of an MoU with Jeongseon County in Gangwon Province, Korea in Seoul on October 20 for the Asian Olympic Academy.

The signing ceremony in Riyadh was also attended by the OCA Director General, Husain Al Musallam, IOC Vice President and OCA Advisory Committee Chair Ng Ser Miang of Singapore, Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee President HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal and HH Prince Fahad bin Jalawi.

The ΙΟΑ, situated next to the archaeological site in Greece where the first Olympic Games were born, aims at studying, enriching and promoting Olympism and its values.
