Taipei, October 21, 2022: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee embraced the creativity of youth and their passion for sport by hosting an Asian Games children’s art competition under the Olympic Council of Asia’s “Asian Games for All” promotional campaign.
Not only did the competition give the children the opportunity to display their artistic talent, it also introduced them to the 19th Asian Games which will take place in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8, 2023.
The CTOC invited children aged 13 and below to participate in the contest combining art, drawing and sport.
After three phases of the selection process for the 143 participants, the judging panel selected the 10 best drawings, 10 first-rate drawings and 10 excellent drawings, with the choices including the work of five girls and five boys in each section.
The list of winners was released on the CTOC website on August 8, and the winners received prizes and certificates.
According to the OCA regulations, the CTOC will deliver the top 10 drawings to OCA and Asian Games organising committee HAGOC. The OCA will choose the best four drawings - two girls and two boys - from each NOC.
The best entries from around the continent will be displayed at the Hangzhou Asian Games Main Press Centre and the OCA Headquarters Hotel in Hangzhou during the Asian Games next year.
“The Asian Games Drawing Contest offers an excellent opportunity for our primary school students to express their imagination and understanding of the Hangzhou Asian Games and to show their support for their favourite athletes or to draw their favourite sport,” the CTOC said.
“It is not only a great opportunity to inspire the youth but also a good way to arouse their passion for the Asian Games.”
