Tajikistan NOC runs Olympic Solidarity course for athletics coaches

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, October 18, 2022: The National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Athletics Federation of Tajikistan, launched a 10-day Olympic Solidarity course for athletics coaches in Dushanbe on Monday, October 17.

Representatives from the Tajikistan NOC and the Athletics Federation participated in the opening ceremony which was attended by coaches from all regions of the country.

The Olympic Solidarity course will focus on improving the technical skills of the coaches. There will be theory and practical classes conducted by internationally qualified expert Alexander Krugligov from Kazakhstan.

Tajikistan has had significant success in athletics in the international arena. The country has won one Olympic gold medal – hammer thrower Dilshod Nazarov at the Rio 2016 Games – two gold medals at World Championships, three gold medals at the Asian Games, one gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games and five gold medals at the Asian Championships. Tajik athletes have also performed well in the Central Asia region.

The technical course will end with all participants being awarded with Level A coaching certificates.
