Muscat, Oman, October 12, 2022: The Oman Olympic Committee, represented by its Oman Committee for Women’s Sports and Gender Equality, organised an Outward Bound programme for women sports leaders last week.
The Oman Challenge programme, a three-day event from October 4-6, was held at the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar in cooperation with the Outward Bound Oman Training Foundation.
The programme witnessed the participation of many women sports leaders, administrators and coaches from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, sports associations and committees, and Women’s Sports Committee.
The three-day course focused on strengthening participation in sports by women and providing them with life skills including taking responsibility by taking on a new experience in dealing with nature.
Training was provided for raising morale and motivating the team, as well as increasing productivity and developing basic skills to work effectively as a team.
The first day introduced participants to the objectives of the programme, developing relationships and breaking down barriers in life. The outward bound expedition began on the second day, followed by an individual meditation and self-reflection session. The third day dealt with the final challenge to solve problems through debriefing and focus on knowledge transfer.
All participants received certificates.
