Cambodia ready to host 41st OCA General Assembly

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, October 1, 2022: Cambodia will host the 41st General Assembly and related meetings of the Olympic Council of Asia at the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh on October 3-4.

The General Assembly on October 4 will be attended by presidents and secretary generals of Asian National Olympic Committees, and International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach will address delegates through a video message.

Welcoming addresses will be made by the Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Raja Randhir Singh, and the President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, HE Dr. Thong Khon.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Chief Guest at the General Assembly, will also address delegates.

Representatives of 44 National Olympic Committees will participate at the meeting, of which 40 will attend in person and four online.

The General Assembly will be preceded by the 78th OCA Executive Board meeting on Monday, October 3.

Top of the agenda at the General Assembly will be the signing of the Host City Contract for the 2029 Asian Winter Games at Saudi Arabia’s tourism resort of Trojena, Neom megacity.

Also on the agenda will be reports and updates from the organising committees of the next four Asian Games – Hangzhou in 2023, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, Doha 2030 and Riyadh 2034.

Reports will also be made by the organising committees of the Thailand 2023 Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games and the Riyadh 2025 Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games.

There will also be updates from Olympic Solidarity and the Association of National Olympic Committees.

At the end of the meeting on Tuesday, October 4, the date and place of the 42nd General Assembly will be announced.
