UAE NOC and Sharjah Sports Council discuss ways to forge ties to benefit sport in the Emirates

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, September 26, 2022: HE Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, welcomed members of the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee at the Council headquarters in Sharjah last week.

The UAE NOC’s delegation included HE Engineer Azza bint Sulaiman, Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Mohammed bin Darwish, NOC Executive Director.

Discussions mainly centred on ways of cooperation and coordination between the two sides in organising regional and international tournaments which would benefit UAE sport as a whole.

The Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council praised the role of the UAE National Olympic Committee and expressed that the Council was wholeheartedly willing to cooperate with the NOC in all areas that would highlight the potential and capabilities of the people of the Emirates and enhance the country’s reputation in international forums.

HE Issa Hilal added that cooperation between both parties would ensure the NOC would benefit from the sporting infrastructure in the Emirates of Sharjah.

For her part, Engineer Azza bint Sulaiman applauded the role played by the Sharjah Sports Council pointing to the diversity of activities and events, and the fruitful cooperation between the Council and various sporting institutions in the Emirates.
