OCA receives SUVs from prestige partner to mark one-year countdown to 19th Asian Games

Kuwait City, Kuwait, September 23, 2022: The Olympic Council of Asia is driving confidently towards the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China next year – thanks to the support and generosity of a Prestige Partner.

To mark the one-year countdown to the 19th Asian Games on September 23, the OCA was presented with four stylish SUVs by Lynk & Co, which is owned by the Hangzhou-based Geely Auto Group.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Lynk & Co. showroom in Kuwait on Friday, September 23, marking exactly one year to the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games.

Lynk & Co Kuwait is the first dealership in the Middle East and the model in question is the Lynk & Co 01, a compact, five-door SUV which has been co-developed by Volvo Cars, which is also owned by Geely.

“This is a wonderful gesture from one of our Prestige Partners for the 19th Asian Games,” said the OCA Director General, Husain Al Musallam.

“I am sure the beautiful new SUVs will stand out in the crowd as they serve the needs of the OCA in Kuwait.

“The Lynk & Co 01 is a truly striking model, and the OCA is proud to be associated with such a dynamic and progressive auto maker.

“This generous offer by Lynk & Co highlights the spirit of cooperation that exists between the OCA, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee and all our partners, sponsors and suppliers. It fills me with confidence that everyone is working towards the same goal – a smart and stylish 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2023.”

On behalf of Lynk & Co, Lin Jie said it was a proud moment to witness the official delivery of the Lynk & Co 01 SUVs to the OCA on such a special occasion.

Joining the ceremony on line, Lin Jie said: “Although I can’t be with you in person, I am still as excited as all of you at the moment. This is the first time that Lynk & Co has become the official designated car of an international sports organisation.

“For us, this is a very meaningful moment. On behalf of Lynk & Co, I would like to thank the Olympic Council of Asia for their recognition and thank all Lynk & Co partners for their dedication and hard work.

“As the official Prestige Partner of the Hangzhou Asian Games and premium car brand under Geely Holding Group, Lynk & Co is a true representation of global collaboration. Since the brand's birth nearly six years ago, we have launched a number of world-class models created closely around the needs of users. The brand's cumulative sales volume has exceeded 750,000 units, showcasing its popularity.

“It is Lynk & Co's mission and vision to change mobility forever. In Europe, we've not only opened nine Lynk & Co Clubs, we've also created a subscription business model, which has attracted nearly 120,000 European members.

“Last year, we came to Kuwait, where you are now established as the first Lynk & Co Center in the Middle East region.

“We will continue to work hard to provide high-value products and services for global users backed by the best of China's automotive industry. I also believe that the Lynk & Co 01 will offer a safe and pleasant driving experience for our friends at the Olympic Council of Asia.”

The 19th Asian Games will take place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, from September 23 to October 8, 2023.
