Vientiane, Laos, September 3, 2022: Olympic sport in Laos made a major step forward with the launch of the Lao Gymnastics Federation on Friday, September 2.
The Asian Gymnastics Union reports that the new member association was formed during a visit to the capital Vientiane by the President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), IOC member Morinari Watanabe of Japan, and the AGU President, Abdulrahman Al-Shathri.
The AGU honoured leading officials from the government, the Lao Gymnastics Federation and from the National Olympic Committee for the work they have done in bringing Laos into the Asian gymnastics family.
