Phnom Penh, Cambodia, August 30, 2022: Cambodia is stepping up its anti-doping efforts ahead of the Southeast Asian Games to be held in Phnom Penh next May.

The Cambodia Anti-Doping Agency held a three-day Doping Control Officer (DCO) Training Course to update the relevant anti-doping personnel on the requirements for the 32nd SEA Games and 12th ASEAN Para Games.

The Southeast Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SEARADO) congratulated the Cambodia Anti-Doping Agency on hosting the workshop to help build capacity and prepare the DCOs for the two big regional multi-sport events.

The course was held at the National Sports Training Centre and representatives of the Directorate General of Sports and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports were in attendance at the opening ceremony.

The course covered all aspects of anti-doping including prohibited substances and testing procedures in efforts to protect clean athletes and guarantee fair sport.

Government officials praised the Cambodia Anti-Doping Agency for organising the workshop in a timely manner and for providing a solid platform on which to build their programme. The three-day course was comprised of 20 workshops.

SEA Games 32 is scheduled to take place from May 5-17, 2023 at five locations – the capital Phnom Penh and the provinces of Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot and Kep.
