Amman, Jordan, August 30, 2022: HRH Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein of Jordan, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, honoured members of the Jordan delegation who participated in the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey.
The felicitation ceremony was held on Monday, August 29 at St. Regis Hotel in the presence of HRH Princess Alia bint Al Hussein, HH Princess Aya bint Faisal, Minister of Youth HE Mohammad Salameh Al Nabulsi, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship HE Ahmad Al Hanandeh, Vice President of JOC Dr. Sari Ahmad Hamdan, JOC Secretary General Nasser Al-Majali and other members of the JOC Board of Directors.
JOC President Prince Feisal praised the achievements of Team Jordan which won 12 medals including two gold, four silvers and six bronze medals, commending the efforts of the athletes and coaches. The two gold medals were won in gymnastics and karate.
On his part, JOC Secretary General Nasser Al-Majali, who also led the Jordanian delegation in Konya, said the JOC was proud of the efforts of Team Jordan who finished ranked 16th overall from the 54 countries who participated.
“We are proud of what was achieved in Konya and applaud the efforts of the national teams. Participation in Konya was done with two targets – the first to achieve the largest number of medals for Jordan and the second to give some national teams the opportunity of competing and
measure them against stronger opposition. Both aspects are in line with the Jordanian national sports strategy,” Al-Majali pointed out.
