Manama, Bahrain, August 28, 2022: The President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has expressed his pride at the Kingdom hosting the forthcoming Olympic Council of Asia Gender Equity Seminar in the capital Manama.
Sheikh Khalid, who has fully backed the Gender Equity Seminar, said it embodied the principles and passions of Bahrain and its pursuit of sporting excellence, especially promoting the role of women in sports.
In a push to activate and support Gender Equity Committees among the Asian National Olympic Committee, the OCA and the OCA Gender Equity Committee will hold a two-day seminar on October 30-31 in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee and Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The Chair of the OCA Gender Equity Committee and senior board member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Sheikha Hayat Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, will be one of the key figures to address the seminar. Sheikha Hayat has been a long-time advocate and campaigner for women’s equality in sport across Asia and the world.
