Iraq NOC sponsors trio of table tennis coaches from Iran

Baghdad, Iraq, August 26, 2022: The National Olympic Committee of Iraq has sponsored the Iraqi Table Tennis Federation to hire three coaches from Iran to supervise the national teams.

The contracts were signed at the Iraq NOC HQ on Wednesday, August 24 by the NOC President, Raad Hammoudi, and the three Iranian coaches, Behnam Tawfiq Rahma, Shahram Parweiz Srikhshan and Mohamed Samad Abadi, Iraq NOC reports.

Hammoudi said the Iraqi National Olympic Committee was committed to supporting national federations by signing contracts with coaches to develop the potential of players of different age groups. He hoped this latest initiative would create a new generation of table tennis players in Iraq and lead to success on the international stage.

The President of the Iraqi Table Tennis Federation, Harda Raouf Baram, thanked the NOC, its President Hammoudi and executive office for their support and cooperation. He said that the coaches were needed to develop the Iraqi national teams at all levels and prepare them for Arab and continental championships.

The Iranian coaches expressed their enthusiasm and happiness with their upcoming work with the Iraqi national teams to enhance and develop players' abilities in an effort to improve their level and results in the upcoming international championships.

The signing ceremony was attended by members of the executive office and table tennis officials.

The Iraqi Table Tennis Federation has been a member of the International Table Tennis Federation governing body since 1971.
