Kathmandu, Nepal, August 25, 2022: The Women and Sports Commission of the Nepal Olympic Committee celebrated Teej festival on Wednesday, August 24, at the Satdobato headquarters of the NOC.
The President of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Hon Jeevan Ram Shrestha, presided over the festivities, which was graced by women representatives from the different National Sports Federations.
Wearing the auspicious colour red, the women danced and celebrated the important Hindu festival, with President Shrestha also getting into the swing of things.
Traditionally, married women observe Teej and pray for their husband’s wellbeing, while unmarried girls wish for a life partner of their choice.
