Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 marks 1,500 days to go

Nagoya, Japan, August 12, 2022: The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC) marked the 1,500-day countdown to the 2026 Asiad on Thursday, August 11.

The OCA’s 20th Asian Games will be held in Nagoya city and Aichi prefecture from September 19 to October 4, 2026 under the slogan “Imagine One Asia”.

In a series of promotional posts and campaigns on social media, AINAGOC said: “Today, August 11th, is 1500 days before the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 - the largest event that contributes to international peace through sport and fostering diversity. Looking forward to the opening!

“Is it still far away? 1500 days can go by in a flash. In 2026, let’s be here together and share the inspiration that sport brings."

The organising committee also asked members of the public to produce inspirational slogans and messages in a “thought corner” on the official website.

The 20th Asian Games will be the third time for Japan to host the event, following Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994.
