Saudi Arabia NOC submits letter of interest to OCA to host 2029 Asian Winter Games

Kuwait, August 4, 2022: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has officially received a Letter of Intent from Saudi Arabia Olympic & Paralympic Committee to host the 9th Asian Winter Games in TROJENA, NEOM in Saudi Arabia in 2029.     

NEOM is a City in the Mountains of northwest Saudi Arabia which is being developed as a winter sports destination under the Kingdoms Vision 2030 programme.  Trojena will feature unique and innovative architecture in a place where the captivating landscapes will coexist inharmony with the tourist sites.  It will offer a unique experience including GCC regions first outdoor Skiing. 

The OCA’s Asian Winter Games was first held in Sapporo in 1986. 

The Games in 2029 in Trojena, Neom will be the 9th edition of the Asian Winter Games.

It is the endeavor of OCA to promote Winter Sports in Countries which traditionally do not have a snowy season. 

The OCA in its General Assembly in Phnom Penh, Cambodia will officially select the host City for the 9th Asian Winter Games.
