Baghdad, Iraq, July 21, 2022: The President of the Iraq National Olympic Committee, Raad Hammoudi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mayor of the Portuguese city of Anadia, Teresa Belim Cardoso, regarding sports facilities for Iraqi athletes.
The MoU will ensure the establishment of training camps for Iraqi athletes preparing for the Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The groundwork for the MoU was laid in May 2022 when a delegation from the Municipality of Anadia had met Iraqi NOC officials at the NOC Headquarters in Baghdad.
The Portuguese Municipality offers advanced sports infrastructure in a number of sports, according to a statement made by the Iraqi NOC.
