Bahrain Olympic Committee signs agreement to teach swimming to 10,000 children annually

Manama, Bahrain, July 18, 2022: The Bahrain Olympic Committee has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Bahrain Swimming Federation aimed at training and teaching swimming to 10,000 children annually.

The agreement was signed on Sunday, July 17, between the BOC Secretary General, Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, and the President of the Swimming Federation, Dr. Muhammad Majbal.

BOC Secretary General Faris Al-Kooheji expressed satisfaction and happiness at signing the agreement which he said was in line with the vision of the President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, who is also the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.

“Swimming is a basic Olympic sport. The signing of this agreement will result in the largest number of children of both sexes being involved in swimming,” Al-Kooheji said.

The BOC Secretary General said the aim of the Bahrain Olympic Committee was to unearth young talent and hopefully one day have an Olympic champion from the Kingdom.

He thanked the Bahrain Swimming Federation for its support of the initiative.
