Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 13, 2022: Her Excellency Engineer Azza bint Suleiman, Assistant Secretary General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee, met Al-Kir Kilich, Consul General of Turkey in the UAE, to discuss arrangements for the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games next month.
UAE will send athletes in nine sports for the August 8-19 showpiece in Konya, Turkey. The nine sports are archery, basketball (women’s 3x3), cycling, fencing, karate, judo, swimming, taekwondo and weightlifting.
The meeting between Azza bint Suleiman and the Consul General took place at the Turkish Consulate in Dubai and discussions revolved around all aspects of logistics including travel, transport and accommodation.
Athletes from 59 countries, including 24 from Asia, will participate in 21 sports at the Islamic Solidarity Games.
