Lahore, Pakistan, June 24, 2022: Pakistan Olympic Association celebrated Olympic Day 2022 in diverse fashion on Thursday, June 23, with one of the main events being a community walk from the Defence Housing Authority Head Office to the Sports Complex in Lahore.
Hundreds of participants, including many children, were involved in the walk on a day where the Pakistan Olympic Association annually engages with its partners to promote Olympism in the country.
Apart from the walk, an exhibition hockey match featuring Olympians and celebrities against young children was also held.
Two messages, from IOC President Thomas Bach and POA President Lt Gen (retd) Syed Arif Hasan, were also read out to the crowd, and this was followed by a digital Olympic quiz which was conducted by the POA.
Muhammad Yaqub, POA Vice President, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with a number of other senior POA officials and leading Pakistani athletes, including hockey legends Tauqeer Dar and Manzoor-ul-Hassan, and cricketer Tariq Aziz.
