Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, January 6, 2020: The Brunei Darussalam National Badminton Association received a major boost in the development of badminton in the country following a landmark Memorandum of Understanding signing with Yonex Sunrise Singapore at the Mulia Hotel.

Signing on behalf of the local badminton association was its President, Pengiran Haji Hamzah bin Pengiran Haji Mohamad, while Yonex Sunrise Singapore was represented by its Executive Marketing Officer, Leonard Lai Hwa Tong.

The signing is hoped to encourage the association to be active in organising badminton championships in the country, reports the Borneo Bulletin.

Through the MoU, Yonex Sunrise will sponsor national team players and the association in the form of equipment and prizes for competitions organised by the association from October 2019 to September 2024.

Badminton Association President Pengiran Haji Hamzah said the memorandum served as a catalyst for the association to move forward.
