Hangzhou, China, June 22, 2022: The Qiantang Roller Skating Centre for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China has officially opened to the public.
Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee HAGOC said the new roller sports complex opened to the public on June 20 and will be available from 7am to 5pm daily except Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The centre is shaped like a spinning top when viewed from above, and will provide a world-class sports and leisure complex for the roller sports enthusiasts in the build-up to the Asian Games.
Adjacent to the Qiantang River, the Roller Skating Centre is located in the East Bay Headquarter Base in Qiantang New District, Hangzhou.
The construction was contracted to China Construction Investment Group with an input of 480 million yuan. It has 36,000 square meters of building area and is equipped with roller skating rinks that conform to the standard dimensions released by the International Roller Skating Federation, namely 200m x 7m for speed roller skating and 50m x 25m for artistic roller skating.
The stadium has a seating capacity of 1,600 and is expected to be the most professional venue in Asia for indoor roller skating.
The 19th Asian Games have been postponed from September 2022 to new dates to be announced in 2023.
