Thimphu, Bhutan, June 19, 2022: The Bhutan Olympic Committee has announced the availability of 11 sports scholarships with two leading educational institutions in the country for the academic year 2022.
The Bhutan Olympic Committee in collaboration with the Royal University of Bhutan will offer five sports scholarships at the Paro College of Education to pursue a Diploma in Physical Education and Sports Coaching.
The Royal University of Bhutan scholarship will cover all tuition and boarding costs for two years at the Paro College of Education. The deadline for applications is July 1 and can be submitted online.
In addition to this, a separate joint-collaboration between the BOC and the Royal Thimphu College will offer up to six sports scholarships beginning the academic year 2022. This scheme will cover all tuition, boarding and food costs for three to four years.
Both scholarship programmes will give preference to national athletes who have represented the country and are currently members of national teams of their respective National Sports Federations, or those with outstanding sporting achievements.
The deadline to submit applications for the Royal Thimphu College scholarship programme is July 2. Applications must be submitted in hard copy to the Bhutan Olympic Committee office at Changlingmethang National Stadium.
