Kathmandu, Nepal, June 14, 2022: The Nepal Cycling Association, in collaboration with the Nepal Olympic Committee Sports for All Commission, held a cycle rally on June 5 to mark Olympic Day 2022.
The cycle rally was the first of a series of events which will be held by Nepal sports federations to celebrate Olympic Day 2022 which falls on June 23.
The President of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Hon. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, and other senior NOC officials were present at the opening ceremony of the cycle rally through the streets of the capital.
On Olympic Day, June 23, the Nepal Olympic Committee will also hold its NOC Awards 2022 with winners being judged by an independent panel of 11 people.
Apart from the Chair of the panel – Gopal Sundarlal Kakshapati, who is a member of the NOC – the rest of the panel are not NOC office bearers or employees; they will comprise former athletes, coaches and journalists.
Awards in nine categories will be handed out.
