Lausanne, Switzerland, June 10, 2022: ANOC and the Indonesia Olympic Committee announced on Friday, June 10 that Bali will host the second ANOC World Beach Games from August 5-12, 2023. The Games will be followed by the XXVII ANOC General Assembly from August 13-15.
The ANOC General Assembly in October 2021 approved Indonesia as host country of the ANOC World Beach Games 2023 and an ANOC Technical Group has since then worked closely with Indonesia NOC.
After the success of the inaugural edition in Doha, Qatar, in 2019, the ANOC World Beach Games will once again be open to all National Olympic Committees and will provide an opportunity to connect through exciting new sports, new stars and a new generation of sports fans.
More than 1,200 athletes from 97 NOCs competed at Qatar 2019 and similar global participation will be expected next year in Bali.
The Games will be a celebration of beach and water sports and will include the 10 disciplines of the core programme – Aquathlon, Beach Handball, Beach Soccer, Beach Tennis, Beach Volley 4×4, Beach Water Polo, Beach Wrestling, Individual Kata, Expression Kiteboarding and Open Water Swimming 5km– as well as additional disciplines proposed by the Organising Committee, to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Bali hosted the OCA’s inaugural Asian Beach Games in 2008 and has the necessary existing infrastructure that aligns it perfectly with ANOCs sustainability ethos.
