Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, June 5, 2022: The Olympic Council of Malaysia is preparing to host the local leg of the Road to Asian Games 2022 for esports enthusiasts.

The online qualifier will take place from June 11-12 and this will be followed by the LAN (local area network) playoff from June 24-26.

The OCM is calling for entries in Dota 2, Arena of Valor, League of Legends, FIFA Online 4, Hearthstone and Street Fighter V.

The PUBG MOBILE game will be held by invitation only to PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) Malaysia teams.

The Road to Asian Games 2022 is being coordinated by the Asian Electronic Sports Federation in collaboration with the Olympic Council of Asia to provide a systematic regional qualifying competition for the Hangzhou Asian Games, which has been postponed from September 2022 to dates to be fixed in 2023.

The Hangzhou Asian Games will see esports contested as a full medal sport for the first time after being a demonstration sport at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia.
