QOC hosts volunteer workshop for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Doha, Qatar, June 5, 2022: The Qatar Olympic Committee hosted a volunteer promotional workshop for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at the QOC HQ.

The QOC initiative was to support the sustained efforts of Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy to shed light on the valuable role of volunteers.

The Director of the Volunteer Strategy Department at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Nasser Al Mogaiseeb, and department staff Fatima Al Magid and Kareem Qadiri delivered a presentation on the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will take place from November 21 to December 18. Their presentation included the venues, mascot, cultural values and the objectives of the volunteer strategy department as per FIFA requirements.

They also outlined the basic conditions of volunteering, the registration process, the various fields available, training locations and post-event benefits.

This promotional workshop came in the framework of cooperation with the volunteer strategy department and FIFA in which the QOC joins hands with the other stakeholders to interact and promote the volunteer programme and set up a database.

“The QOC’s Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Department spares no effort to help staff participating in this most mega of sports events to meet its strategic goal and to create an attractive and ideal working environment,” the QOC said.

A total of 20,000 volunteers will work across 45 functional areas at official and non-official sites such as stadiums, training sites, the airport, fan zones, hotels and public transportation hubs.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old on October 1, 2022 and speak English. Arabic is an advantage. No previous experience is needed and candidates from all backgrounds and different parts of the world are welcome to apply.
