Jakarta, Indonesia, May 27, 2022: Indonesia’s women and sport advocate Shelly Selowati H. Soejono has received a top award from the International Boxing Association.
Shelly was presented with the trophy for Pioneer Woman in Boxing on the sidelines of the 2022 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Indonesian trail-blazer also plays a prominent role in the women and sport commission of the Indonesian Olympic Committee.
“It was an honour for me to receive the Pioneer Woman in Boxing award from IBA - International Boxing Association,” she posted on her Facebook page (Shelly Miranda).
“Thank you, President Umar Kremlev and Secretary General Istvan Kovacs.”
The Pioneer Woman in Boxing was one of seven awards presented by IBA at the gala dinner following the championships.
