Kuwait City, Kuwait, May 16, 2022: Yaqoub Al-Youha won host Kuwait its first gold medal at the 3rd GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Games Kuwait 2022 on Monday, May 16.

The sprinter clinched the men’s 110m hurdles gold medal in the afternoon session at the Ahmad Al Rashdan Track & Field venue.

Al-Youha won the gold in 13.65 seconds while Qatar’s Saeed Al Absi grabbed the silver medal with a time of 14.08. The bronze went to Khalfan Al Jabri of Oman in 15.04.

The comfortable victory once again underlined Al-Youha’s dominance over his opponents in the region. In June last year, Al-Youha completed a hat-trick of gold medals at the Arab Athletics Championship in Tunis.
