Nepal NOC hosts Asian Games Art Exhibition to display children's work

Kathmandu, Nepal. May 4, 2022: The Nepal Olympic Committee held an Asian Games Art Exhibition and selected the top 10 entries to send to the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee.

The Nepal Olympic Committee launched its Asian Games Art Festival on April 28 and all the entries from 62 students from 17 schools were displayed in the exhibition on Tuesday, May 3. The students were aged from five to 13.

The President of Nepal NOC, Hon. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, presented certificates to all 62 participants with the top five females and top five males also being given gift hampers. These 10 drawings were also shortlisted to be submitted to HAGOC.

The children's art competition is one of the Olympic Council of Asia’s three promotional activities under the Asian Games For All project ahead of Hangzhou 2022, along with the Asian Games Fun Run and Asian Games Youth Reporter Project.

The top 10 entries were: 

1. Samir Timalsina, The Celebration Co. Ed;

2. Roman Sapkota, The Celebration Co. Ed; 

3. Saurab Upreti, Jugal School; 

4. Shubham Ranjitkar, Nightingale Secondary International School;

5. Siddhartha Pradhan, Kathmandu Vidya Kunja Secondary School;

6. Mahika Joshi, Akshara School; 

7. Saurab Karki, Brihaspati Vidyasadan School; 

8. Shirya Gurung, Suryodaya Secondary Boarding School; 

9. Aarushi Shrestha, Kathmandu Vidya Kunja Secondary School;

10. Arushi Bohara, Kathmandu Vidya Kunja Secondary School.

The drawings were judged by Manish Lal Shrestha, Ramesh Khanal and Samyukta Bhandari and the programme was coordinated by Saphal Ram Shrestha.

Also present at the exhibition were NOC Vice President and Executive Director Chaturananda Raj Baidhya, Secretary General Nilendra Raj Shrestha, Chairperson of Sport for All Commission Bishnu Gopal Shrestha and Nepal Shooting Association President Pusha Das Shrestha.
