OCA Advisory Committee meets in Seoul to discuss Olympic updates

Seoul, Korea, May 3, 2022: The Olympic Council of Asia Advisory Committee met in Seoul, Korea on Tuesday, May 3 to discuss the latest trends and developments in the Olympic Movement.

The OCA Advisory Committee is comprised of Asian members of the International Olympic Committee and serves as a link between the IOC, OCA and National Olympic Committees.

One of the topics on the agenda was Asia’s next hosting of an IOC games, namely the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon, Korea in 2024.

The Winter YOG will build on the legacy of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang in 2018 by using the same venues for snow sports in the PyeongChang mountains and ice sports in Gangneung near the coast of Gangwon province.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for Korean sports leaders to outline their initiatives to the Asian IOC members.
