Thimphu, Bhutan, April 27, 2022: The Bhutan Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Bhutan Football Federation, has introduced the fast-growing sport of teqball to sports fans.

The teqball launch took place at the Ugyen Academy in Punakha and was conducted with the support of the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ).

“Teqball is a ball sport that is played on a curved table, combining elements of football and table tennis,” the BOC said.

“Back and forth, the players hit a football with any part of the body except arms and hands. Teqball can be played between two players as a singles game, or between four players as a doubles game.”

Teqball, which was founded in Hungary, joined the Olympic Council of Asia sports family at the OCA General Assembly in Jakarta in 2018.
