Baghdad, Iraq, April 25, 2022: The National Olympic Committee of Iraq has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Environment as a partner in the Olympic movement.
The joint cooperation agreement was signed by the President of Iraq NOC, Mr. Raad Hammoudi, and the Minister of the Environment, Dr. Jassim Al-Falahi.
The partnership will ensure that all matters related to the environment and sustainability will be incorporated into any sports projects of Iraq NOC to establish a model in this field, particularly the NOC HQ building.
Dr. Falahi said the agreement was signed in the light of the national initiative to improve energy efficiency, and that the ministry had chosen the Olympic Committee for the important role it plays in sport and society.
NOC President Hammoudi said that the International Olympic Committee and Olympic Council of Asia always guaranteed their support in matters related to improving the environment and had issued guidelines on ensuring clean and green games.
The two sides exchanged gifts and shields at the conclusion of the signing of the joint cooperation agreement, which was also attended by other executives of the Olympic Committee.
