Muscat, Oman, April 11, 2022: The Oman Olympic Academy (OOA) has become a member of the International Olympic Academy (IOA) in an important step to benefit the athletes and staff in sports institutions.
Programmes offered by the IOA are varied and available to all National Olympic Academies around the world. They include a master’s degree in Olympic Studies, Olympic Education and Olympic Events Organisation and Management, the aim of which is to enhance the capability and knowledge of the participants and promote and develop Olympic education programmes.
There is, in addition to the master’s degree, a number of international seminars and courses on Olympic studies, Youth Olympic Games ambassadors, physical education courses for university professors, sports journalists, Olympic medalists and courses on sports, society and culture.
The programmes also include visits to the IOA HQ from member National Olympic Committees and National Olympic Academies, conferences and educational visits and the Youth Symposium on World Cultural Heritage organised annually by the Greek Cultural and Educational Club of UNESCO.
It is worth noting that the Oman Olympic Academy has organised, since its inception, 19 training courses with the participation of more than 300 staff in sports institutions, such as sports law, advanced sports management diploma, sports training, sports media, sports event management, Olympic education, and rehabilitation and disabilities.
