Beirut, Lebanon, April 10, 2022: The Lebanese Minister of Youth and Sport, George Kallas, visited the headquarters of the Lebanese Olympic Committee in Baabda last week where he was welcomed by President Pierre Jalkh and members of the LOC executive committee.
President Jalkh in his welcome speech thanked the government for all the support it has given and called for continued and closer cooperation between the Sports Ministry and the Lebanese Olympic Committee. He also briefed the Sports Minister on Lebanon’s international sporting commitments.
In his turn, Sports Minister Kallas conveyed the best wishes of Prime Minister Najib Mikati who thanked the Lebanese Olympic Committee and all the athletes for carrying a positive image of Lebanon around the world.
The Minister said the purpose of his visit was to establish a working dialogue with the Lebanese Olympic Committee and called for setting up a road map for the further development of sport in the country.
The LOC chief then took Minister Kallas on a tour of the headquarters and showed him the facilities.
At the end of the visit, President Jalkh presented Minister Kallas with a plaque of the Lebanese Olympic Committee and also pinned a LOC badge on his coat lapel.
